At CZTIS, we have recently introduced the Busy Ant Maths programme of study in our primary school.
This is a flexible and exciting programme written to meet the objectives for mathematics of the new National Curriculum of England. It has been carefully designed to inspire confidence in young mathematicians and to ensure conceptual understanding and mathematical fluency.
Assessment is at the heart and start of Busy Ant Maths, embedding best practice across the school.
Busy Ant Maths:
– Is in line with the new National Curriculum of England, ensuring all content is covered comprehensively.
– Reaches all children through differentiated challenges and support.
– Helps children gain confidence and understanding early on through interactive tools, activities and games.

Middle Years – ‘Cambridge Secondary 1’ Mathematics Curriculum
A challenging international curriculum designed for 11-14 year olds
The ‘Cambridge Secondary 1’ mathematics curriculum starts in Year 7 and leads directly into the ‘Cambridge Secondary 2’ curriculum culminating in the internationally recognized iGCSE qualification at the end of Year 11.
The curriculum framework explores six content areas:
- handling data
- problem solving
The first five content areas are all underpinned by problem solving, which provides a structure for the application of mathematical skills. Mental strategies are also an important part of the number content. The curriculum focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships, so that learners apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the subject.
