Studying Media Arts helps develop essential problem solving skills as well as an eye for the arts. It helps to teach visual arts such as watercolor painting, acrylic painting, drawing and sculpting. Media Arts then combines the knowledge taught in visual arts and applies/combines it in a digital medium. The digital side of Media Arts involves the use of photography and graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop®, Adobe Illustrator® and Adobe Premier®. Combining all these art mediums will prepare the students for the new and current digital age while understanding traditional techniques. They will recognize them in everyday advertising, television shows, films, magazines and newspapers.
