Cupcakes for Togo:

9f811d119f99b9495f402908d6ffcf3d(1)It all started as a Wechat message asking for a few old children’s summer clothes to put in a suitcase for an orphanage in Aneho, Togo, West Africa.2facde1591732f8e764b44d93af6b8d1.temp
The next day, bags and bags of clothes appeared and we needed to find a new way to get these children’s clothes to Togo. With all the support we received from selling cupcakes, we had raised more than enough to ship the clothing to the orphanage! Thank you to everyone who brought a cupcake and who kindly donated clothing to these children.

Non-uniform day for Nepal:

On Friday the 8th of May, a non-uniform day was held at CZTIS to raise money for victims of the recent earthquake that caused widespread devastation in parts of Nepal. Children and staff attended school in casual clothes and many gave a suggested voluntary donation of 20 RMB to help contribute to the on-going aid effort. CZTIS would like to thank all those who made a donation.

Pyjama Day – Climate Change Awareness:

OnIMG_8036 January 30, CZTIS held a Pyjama Day to help raise awareness of Climate Change in our school community. After arriving on the bus in their pyjamas, students entered the auditorium for assembly. During assembly, students learnt about the impact of climate change on animals and people around the world and what it will mean for the future. Students then thought about things that they could do at school and home to save energy and protect the environment. Some of the suggestions included turning off lights when not in the room, turning off electronic devices when not in use, walking or cycling instead or driving, and turning down the AC. Students really entered into the spirit of the day and showed their enthusiasm for saving energy.

Delivery of Gift Boxes to Orphanage:

Delivery of Gift Boxes to Orphanage

On December 10, students from Years 4 to 6 delivered gift-filled shoeboxes from our ‘Love in a Box’ shoebox appeal to children in Changzhou Children’s Welfare Institution. They also sang a few cheery Christmas carols including ‘Jingle Bells,’ ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’ and ‘Feliz Navidad.’ It was another successful year for our shoebox appeal.
