“Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another steppingstone to greatness.”- Oprah Winfrey
The 8th March marked an important day, on which we celebrate the achievements of women all over the world: International Women’s Day. On this day, the primary and middle years’ departments celebrated the importance of our sisters, mothers, aunties and grandmothers. We started with the grade 2 and 3 classes who presented their posters about why we have Women’s Day and the importance of Women’s Day in history. After the presentation, the girls from grade two, three, four and five performed a poem. We finished the day off by making traditional Women’s Day flowers. These chrysanthemum flowers are for the women in our own families who have left a lasting impact on us. As the children returned to their classes to watch a movie, it was clear that we should show our appreciation to the women in our lives, not only today, but every day. Thank you to Mrs Campbell for organising today’s events.
